Regina societies to hold prayer service

For many years (2020 and 2021 excepted, of course) the Capital Zone has been organizing a prayer service. Sometimes we have used the service put together by Central District, and at other times we have had our pastoral counselor put together or find a service to use.

The service is held in early March and rotates amongst the Regina churches only, as the weather in March can be unpredictable and we want to reduce driving as much as possible! One year I remember driving right past the entrance to the church parking lot – I couldn’t see it for all the snow! But we carry on, because we are keen to get together and pray for each other and we enjoy the extra opportunity to give thanks and praise to God. And sing!

We often include prayers for LWMLC’s current mission grants, with attendees also having an opportunity to submit personal prayer requests once they arrive at the service. The prayer service is also built around a theme and Bible verse. This year it is Living as God’s People, 1 Peter 2: 9-12. You know the verse – “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…”

The 2023 service will be held on March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Regina, led by pastoral counsellor Rev. Arron Gust. Please come and pray with us if you are in or near Regina!
