New Year, New You?

New Year, New You?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV). Our God is the God of new things. We are made new because of Jesus, new every morning. As sisters in Christ, called to serve, we have the joy and privilege of sharing this good newswith others, as Christ’s ambassadors.

Through our baptism Christ Jesus made us new, He clothed us with the robe of His righteousness that covers all our sin. God’s saving deed was accomplished in Jesus Christ and in the outpouring of the Holy Spirt, in Jesus this new work of Christ is complete. Every morning, His mercies are new, and as we wash our face, we can remember our baptism and be strengthened in His faithfulness. We can grow with the strength that He provides as we put off and let go of the broken elements of our lives. Renewed by Christ, we can hear His Word, receive His gifts, and proclaim His praises.

May I encourage you to begin today anew, perhaps a new devotional, a new Bible study, a new service project, a new outlook for each day; putting on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. With the help of Jesus, we can choose each day to live with generosity, joy, contentment and mercy, by embracing Jesus, the very source of hope, whose birth, life, and sacrifice offer a “today” hope and an eternal promise that never changes. We the women of LWMLC are committed to Grow in God’s Word, Share God’s Son and Serve God’s People. God will lead us in 2025 as He has in past. It will be up to us to listen to His voice and put off the old self andcontinually put on the new self. All of which we can only accomplish with the help and grace of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, through daily prayer and thanksgiving. Throughout 2025, we will give thanks for all God’s blessings and continue to lift one another up in prayer. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide as together women across this nation, continue to Sing to the Lord a New Song (Psalm 98:1), for all the wonderful things that God has done.

In Joy and Thanksgiving to be in His Service,
