Solvitur ambulando
Do you do this? It’s a Latin saying for a way to solve problems.
Translation: It is solved by walking.
There’s something about our ability to think through situations and come up with reasonable solutions when we walk. Maybe that’s why we or someone we know paces around a room. I have heard that standing instead of sitting also helps in making a decision. Now it appears that taking a walk is also a way to solve difficulties. Why is that?
It is medically proven that walking enhances cognitive function and reduces the risk of age-related brain diseases. Walking outdoors is even more beneficial as the fresh air gives refreshing oxygen input.
I find walking beneficial for health. In addition, I sometimes prayer walk; walking and praying at the same time. Double duty! The Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 tells us to “pray without ceasing”. Scripture also tells us that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” We want to keep our mind, body, and soul as healthy as possible.
So ladies, keep on walkin’ the walk and talkin’ the talk! You too can solvitur ambulando.
