Giving as Summer Ends

Giving as Summer Ends

As the last of the sunscreen gets packed away and we swap iced tea for pumpkin spice, it’s a good time to reflect—not just on the memories made, but on the mission we share.

Summer may be winding down, but our call to serve through mites never takes a vacation. Those tiny coins (and bills!) we gather do mighty things: supporting mission grants, lifting communities, and sharing the love of Christ across Canada and beyond.

Think of it this way—just as we budget for beach towels and BBQs, we can also budget for blessings. Giving to mites isn’t about the amount; it’s about the heart behind it. Whether it’s a loonie from your laundry or a planned monthly gift, every contribution is a ripple in God’s kingdom.

So as you trade flip-flops for fall boots, consider making mites part of your seasonal rhythm. Set a reminder, tuck a mite box by your coffee pot, or challenge your Bible study group to a “mite match” before Thanksgiving.

Let’s wrap up summer with generosity and step into autumn with purpose.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give… for God loves a cheerful giver.” —2 Corinthians 9:7
