New Beginnings

New Beginnings

September. What does September bring to mind for you? Hurry up and get the outside projects done as winter is coming, falling leaves, apple picking, garden harvesting and the beginning of gardening seasonal chores, sweater weather, pumpkins row on row and corn mazes, the School Bus arrives again and back to school season, perhaps empty nest season as young adults partake in higher education. A time to think about changing summer tires to winter tires, setting out Autumn decorations, serving cozy treats, and warm cider drinks. Harvesting in the fields, reaping of grain and other farm products. These are a few of the answers I received when I asked this question.

September always brings to mind for me, new beginnings. It is something that has stayed with me from my years of working in the school setting. For those of you still working in the school system, September might be a new classroom full of faces eager to learn and a time for you to get to know them through the lens of the Gospel. For me, it’s a time to start over, begin again, a new Bible Study, a new project, renew my fitness regimen, a new Day-Timer/Calendar Planner to plan the (September to June) year programs with many groups in the church. It’s a great time to evaluate how God has blessed us in the past and where He is leading us.

September is for my husband & me, the time we take pleasure in heading out on our annual road trip to the West Coast, to enjoy the blessings of time together and the beauty of God’s creation as it changes to prepare for the colder months, giving thanks to the Lord of the Harvest. We are blessed to incorporate into our trip fall rallies and renewals and meet, hear and experience how God has been at work in you and through you.

Will September be a new beginning for you? Will it be a new season of life for you? Transitions can be exciting and overwhelming all at once. How do we find hope on the hard days of transition and expectant in the days of what’s to come? We can be assured that while change is a constant, God remains steadfast and unchangeable. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong”1 Corinthians 16:13.

No matter how we approach September, as women of LWMLC we will continue to grow in God’s Word, share God’s Son and serve God’s people. To Him be the Glory in all that we do!
