God’s Word & God’s Words

God’s Word & God’s Words

I love words! I often pick a word of the day and look it up in the concordance in the back of my Bible, and then look up all the Bible verses that use that word. I use this method as a writer to write some of my devotions and Bible studies as well. For me, it serves a few purposes:

Words from a Bible verse keep me grounded and focused on the scriptures daily.

Looking up Bible verses each day helps me in my continuous learning process of God’s word, and the words of the Bible.

There are different ways to use the concordance each day, and I have tried a few, but everyone can choose what works for them. You can start at “A” and go through the alphabet, or randomly pick a word a day that inspires you. I use a highlighter to highlight the words I have looked up, and also the Bible verses that inspire me the most.

God gave us “words”. We use them every day. When I use words, I like to think where those words can be found in the Bible and how they are used and in what context in the Bible. It is also fun to use different translations and see more verses where that word is used, or how the word may be substituted in another translation. A Bible study group I attend used one word a week to study and we all chose a verse using that word and shared why we chose that verse and why we shared it.

God’s word is so versatile and the more we learn, the more we grow to love it.

I challenge you to learn more about “God’s Words” in our Bible, one word at a time, each day and share those special Bible verses with those you love.
