Introducing the Member Development Committee

My name is Linda New and I am a new member of the LWMLC Member Development Committee representing the ABC District. I am a called, chosen, forgiven child of God and an heir of God’s heavenly kingdom. Isaiah 43:1 – Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Ephesians 2: 8-10 – For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result or works so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

I am currently a member of Saviour Lutheran Church, Delta, B.C. (Vancouver Zone LWMLC). I joined Lutheran Women’s Missionary League many years ago as a young wife and mother, seeking fellowship with other Christian women, growth in God’s Word, and an opportunity for mission service to my family, church, community and the world.

In the past I have held several offices in Society, Zone and District. The field of my work in the world has been accounting and office administration. I am currently retired.

My family is my real vocation! I have been a daughter, wife, and daughter-in-law. Currently I am a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister, and fellow member of the body of Christ. I was married to my husband, Kirk, for 38 years and am now a widow. I have three adult married children, together with their spouses (two daughters and one son). God has blessed me with eight grandchildren (six boys and two girls) ages 14-23.

My prayer for all people is for them to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and receive the free gift of salvation, (John 3:16)
And for all believers:
“to let the PEACE of Christ rule in their hearts” (Colossians 3:15) and
“the JOY of the Lord be their strength” (Nehemiah 8:10)”
