Bethel LWMLC began this fall with our first meeting in person at the church. We were masked and nine of our 15 members attended. We reviewed the July convention with lots of Q & A’s. We even enjoyed our usual break with coffee and a lovely dessert prepared by our co-chairlady, Teresa.
In October we returned to a virtual meeting format with seven members and four guests. We invited a senior member of our congregation to speak to us about her recently finished book, Moving Stones: A Memoir, which was delightful. She promises to put a copy of it in our church library.
The treasurer reported a healthy giving of Mites in October and we prayed for one of our district mission grants. Pastor James has helped us write a grant proposal for our coming district convention. Our zone delegate to the past national convention, from our society, gave us a good report of the proposed bylaw changes to familiarize us with them. It was very helpful.
For our November meeting we will be watching a video with Rev. Jonathan Kramer as he speaks to us about the book of Psalms, and we will once again attempt to meet in person at the church. The pandemic is still not over but we are not letting it hinder our holding our regular meetings. To God alone be the glory!
